Following the loss of Microsoft Co-founder Paul Allan, his vessel Octopus came on the market.  I used to work on Octopus as one of the engineers and believe she is the most impressive vessel afloat on the water today.  During my time on board we went to Iceland, Greenland, through the North West Passage and even did a trip to Antarctica.

HURRICANES – Tom Jackman

In 2018 I was in the Bahamas working on Yacht Support Vessel Shadow where Dorian destroyed nearly everything in 2019.  I can imagine the situation for the people there because after hurricanes Irma and Maria hit the Caribbean in 2017 I was on-site working alongside salvage teams, yacht charter companies, vessel owners, P&I insurance representatives, other surveyors and repair/recycling facilities.

If you have an interest with a marine asset damaged or lost following a hurricane, then please contact us.

BOOK REVIEW – Superyacht Captain, William Gilbert

The latest head turner over recent years has been the support vessels like Shadow.  These vessels carry the toys, additional equipment and extra personnel for the mother yacht.  In 2018 I worked as the Chief Engineer for Shadow and feel I have a sound understanding of what these vessels are capable of.  If this vessel is of interest, please contact us.
